Charitable Grants In 2018
During 2018, the Charity supported the following:
Mobility and access for the disabled
Funding of a hoist in their play and leisure activity centres for disabled children and young people
Funding for an adapted stairlift specifically designed for a severely disabled child.
Dogs for Good
Funding for the purchase and initial training of an assistance dog
Funding for the installation of a platform lift to enable children in wheelchairs to get between to different levels of the school site.
Funding for a group theatre trip for children with mental, physical and emotional difficulties
Nottinghamshire Clubs for Young People
Funds for a series of wheelchair basketball sessions with trained coaches.
The Paraorchestra and Friends
Funding to enable professional disabled musicians to participate alongside non-disabled musicians in the world’s only integrated virtuoso ensemble.
Funding to provide specialist mobility equipment for two severely disabled children.
Riding for the Disabled Association
Funding for the Association’s South East Region annual carriage driving event including rosettes for all the competitors
Final tranche of funding for this specialist school’s wheelchair sports track.
Principal sponsors of the annual Inter Spinal Unit Games held at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium by WheelPower, a national charity for wheelchair sport which provides opportunities to introduce people to wheelchair sport.

Grants for equipment made each year to individuals identified by WheelPower and considered jointly with the Wheelwrights’ Charity trustees.
