Stefan Hay is currently the Renter Warden and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Wheelwright’s Charity.

In his ‘day’ job, he is Chief Executive Officer of the National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) a position he has held since February 2014. He has worked at senior level with, and for, trade associations, membership bodies and not-for-profit organisations for the past 27 years and prior to that, worked in various operational and training roles in the corporate security sector.

As well as running the NTDA on a day-to-day basis, he represents members’ interests on a range of joint Government / Industry bodies, committees and groups, covering areas of interest such as roadside commercial tyre technician safety, technician training, development and licensing, the automotive aftermarket, tyre ageing, tyre recovery and recycling, sustainability and MOT modernisation to name but a few.

He has written, and contributed to, in excess of three hundred articles for the UK and International trade press across several sectors and a number of national newspapers such as the Times, Guardian, Financial Times and Daily Telegraph.

His main hobbies are; Genealogy and Family History, (having traced most of his branches back to the 1600s), Numismatics, Rugby, (just watching these days) and spending time with his Birman and Ragdoll cats.

He has been married to his wife Nancy since 1993 and they have 3 sons and 2 grand-daughters.
